I have been trying to run the report preview window in window of my own.

This works except the window I want to run it in is quite small and so the grey margin that is used as a background in preview takes up too much room for the report to be of any use.

Ideally I want to be able to display just the report itself with no fancy background in a small window of my own.

This thread is my last hope, if nobody knows how to do it a will have to try and explore a solution using the rich text control (which is likely to be much more laborious solution.
