Of course you could have choosen an other implementation without the assign method:

- instead of labels, use textboxes (set Enabled to .f. ).
- Set the controlsource of the textboxes to THIS.Parent.Caption

But your example shows a kind of mechanism that justifies your choice for the assign method.
