I think this example is a bit trivial; I think there is much to say about this. You like to use this for validation of the property right ?
I have doubts, that is the right way to enforce property checking:
- First of all, this assign method will not fire when the property was filled in design time (or will it ?)
- Second, this maybe shows that VFP needs a ability to define domain checking for properties.
Nevertheless, It *may* be of help in this case to another developer, but the endproduct may suffer from poor performance or fatness. Like you said, if you really want to do domain checking, you can use the well known and accepted method of using methods to assign values to properties.
