I'm considering adding a Timer to my application object but I'm a little concerned about how much processor time this might take. It seems to me that Timers must be fairly intensive as the system must be constantly checking to see whether the interval has elapsed. I believe this may be true even with a large interval (I'd be using an interval of 1,200,000 (20 minutes)). So, to be concise, do timers take a lot of CPU time & are they constantly being checked? Thanks in advance for you response.
