I am working on an existing FPD system that uses the Report FORM tool in an unusual way.

All detail lines, including breaks and subtotals are created in a pre-process step by concatenating variables, text and spaces into a 132 character print line and put into a table. Then control characters specific to the selected printer (HP4P, HP5P, Epson, or Panasonic) are sent to the printer using ??? commands. Then the REPORT FORM is issued using an FRX that has Individual Column Headings that they must have originally done trial and error and a single detail object (the "printline") from the preprocessed table.

Anyway, when I transport using the appropriate font such as Courier New 7, and adjust the HPOS and WIDTH variables in the FRX so that the headings line up with the column detail, it only works with one driver.

If I changes drivers, the HPOS and WIDTH results in different physical placement on the page for the headings, but the spacing on the detail line remains unchanged.

Any suggestions?

Sorry for the long message.
