Domain is a very broad term. it applies to everything, there are database domains, attribute domains, object domains, business domains, etc..

Domain simply means all the possible values that could ever be found in the thing the domain is applied to, sort of the "universe of values".

It commonly used to refer to the attribute, but it equally applies to practically everything else too.
