>Our software has an application that runs on the workstations. We store the executables locally on the workstation to reduce network traffic. If we need to dial in to the server to update the software, or simply want to make it easier to guide the customer through doing so, we need the drive shared. Also, if we dial-in and need to change something on one of the stations, we need the drive shared.

We have the same scenario... exe on the local machine and data on the server. However, our application is self updating - the program compares itself to the copy on the network and updates itself accordingly when first run.

How do you actually dial-in to the clients that you would use a mapped drive (just curious, we still use pcAnywhere).
