By default the Service pack 3 for Visual Studio sets the century rollover to 50
and if your application handles date prior to 1950, and/or subsequent to 2050, then CTOD and DTOC are not to be trusted. In fact, your use of them will get you compiler errors.

A very concise explanation of this, (in simpleton language = 'Just for my kind! LOL')is in the Hackers Guide to FoxPro which was just released. A $60. read, but fairly straight forward, and one of the most complete treatises I have read (except for web enabled applications, as only a true GURU can follwo that part)
