Trust me...you aren't alone. I always have to re-read what I write to make sure it 'looks' correct. It's a family joke that I taught myself to read when my father was on TDY (Temporary Duty) in the Air Force and my mom didn't have time to read the newspaper comics to me. Therefore, I spell the way it sounds and I pronounce the way it looks - which comes in handy for a lot of languages, except English
