I am enrolled in the MSDBA class starting in November and I have some books that have helped me under some of the insides of SQL 7.0. We are discussing what to use as a front end? Do we save much time leaving the front end with the stuff we have now in vf 5.0 as compared to re-writting screens (forms) in vb? If we decide to keep vfp 5.0 as our front end, do you know what are somethings I have to do to the exisitng forms?

If you forte is foxpro, by all means, stick with foxpro. IMHO, you will be shooting yourself in the foot going to VB. All SQL Server is is a different database - you still need the data manipulation in the frontend.

Instead of opening tables directly, create views of the SQL data and open them. You then have all the table functionality you had before with fp tables.
