Thanks Nancy, for this and the other responses. I ended up using the thisform.list2.clear option.

If I use no rowsource, no rowsourcetype and no control source and just fill the list with .additem (from a view), what's the best way to update the original table? In other words, even though the field values come from a view, I'm filling the list with .additem so do the updateable view rules apply?
