thanks, that helps, now the problem is that if I mouse down on a child node it won't let me copy it directly, the selecteditem.key still refers to the parent until I click (let go) and mousedown again.

I want to be able to copy, similar to windows explorer, where all you have to do is put your mouse down and you can copy it.
