>I just went through a magazine called Sm@rt Reseller (http://www.smartreseller.com) and there is an article on new version of dBase. The author, Blake Watson, says: "We recently looked at the new "Y2K compliant" dBase (a 16-bit version 5.7 and a 32-bit version 7.x), and we were impressed. DBase, that DBMS that so many of us wrote our first vertical applications in, is back. Most important, it now enables you to make your dBase legacy code usable past Dec. 31, 1999."

>Blake goes on to say: "Beyond the "quick Y2K fix," you have two paths. If you've got older code using traditional dBase, recommend you keep an eye on the dBase Web site (http://www.dbase2000.com). A legacy code converter is one of dBase Inc.'s top priorities. If you've got newer code, definitly check out the Web site. DBase Inc. is staffed by fanatics who are dying to show you what dBase can do. We saw some impressive Web-site building done entirely in dBase! We also liked the new subscription plan with guaranteed releases every three months. In short, dBase is back and ready for the Web--and another century."

>I guess VFP finally has some competition!

Hopefully, it's not. It could be called cemetery competition :(.
