I heard somewhere that Latin American movies are sometimes shown in Spain dubbed in Castillian Spanish.
A different version of "Trainspotting" was made for American release, with the Scottish actors speaking with somewhat milder accents, and occasional use of subtitles (mainly where background music was loud). I don't know of any other English or Scottish movies where that was done. Something like that may also have been done for the American release of the Australian movie "Mad Max", but I'm not sure.
>LOL! That don't surprise me. We export some television series to France. Even if in theory we both speak french, they insist on redoing the series with their actors. They say that no French would understand our actors and that some series are too sexual (they are the ones showing nudity in publicity).
>A friend of mine spent about 6 months in France a number of years ago. On local TV one day they showed an interview with Rene Levesque (in French). The interview was shown with subtitles!
