Yes, I knew that The Simpsons was translatted here in Quebec. I've often heard local names in the serie. Did you know that the voice of grandfather was done by late Louis-Jean Millette? He did other characters from this serie also, but I've forgotten wich ones.
>I was reading the Montreal Mirror (a fine free publication... the paper is very absorbant for any liquid spills :) and there was an article in there speaking about someone at a Montreal University (Universite de Montreal) was writing a thesis (if I remember correctly) on the nationalisation of the Simpsons for the US, Quebec and France. They not only translate the scripts, but also the social contexts, meaning that the news reporter Kent Brockman in the US is a German reporter called Kurt Brockman in France's airing of the show.
