I guess I knew that, Jim. But, since it was a cursor, I made some ASSumpations. I figured that he didn't really want to keep the cursor around forever, he just wanted something for a dropdown or the like. That would mean that ignoring the duplicatated record would be ok in his situation. But in case it wasn't ok, I gave him the "correct" way to perform his task.

But thanks for the clarification!!!
