Do you really believe that French people from France cannot understand the French spoken in Quebec? I understand that there may be words used differently or words that are not used at all in France, but... translation... this is more than I can accept.
My only experience of this kind was with a new immigrant from France. She was very upset that she couldn't understand the language! So, I asked for examples of words that are so different. The only one she could find was "cash". And she recognized that it is not really so bad and, in fact, people are much more nicer in Quebec than her compatriots (especially those from Paris...).

>Not true. None of the rest of the local newscast was subtitled.
