What if instead of checking the same code in & out of a single VSS project (directory structure) - thus getting the usual version tracking...

what if you had separate project folders in VSS for production version(s), test version(s), maybe even 1 project folder per developer for their own development work. This way you would be able to still have the backup storage functionality yet not have the subsequent version tracking.

just a thought... interesting scenario BTW.
