You can find any code samples from me, we wrote and used big vcx classes to work with oracle. We also did automatic forms designerfrom Oracle to VFP.
Simple forms can be done automatically.
I have doubt , you alone for 3 month will do VFP/Client server product.
Any way, user security takes of big work.
You can avoid ODBC in PowerBulder and Oracle forms, not at Microsoft products.
We rare use remote views on the reason the form load very slow
Next reason, there are so name schemas in Oracle.
You could keep for example one developer base at one schema and real base with same tables at other.
when you create remote views, schema is merged in view, so if you like to switch to different schema,
you have to have other VFP base or programm which substitute all scwith different one
We use sqlexec
Sequencies are very easy, they are instead of seeds in MS SQL
There is brilliant book on Oracle, best I know. I have 5-8 books and all of them much bigger, but less usefull.
I have expirience with writing also VFP/Interbase and VFP/MS SQL7
so everybody wellcomed to ask me.
I guess, I know all rakes at VFP/Oracle way, half of the on the rest of servers.
Where is written everything, tomorrow I can tell you referencies.
