>I want to use an incremental search (quick-fill) list box with the ability to change the value that it's searching on. In my application, the value it's searching on is last name. If that's spelled incorrectly, I want to change the name. I don't want to add a new name. With quick-fill, how do I change it?

Don't you mean quick-fill TEXTbox? I have properties on my inc search textbox that I set to the table, field and tag to use in the search. I then give my users the ability to change the index tag to search by. The data they are searching is usually displayed in a grid instead of a listbox. I also would [probably] never use my inc search textbox to actually modify the current value of the field being searched. My search box is only a search box and never the twain shall meet.
