I am finding that Header1 _never_ goes away. I am finally just doing it the way I should have from the beginning...only put my custom header in place if it is not already there. Then, Header1 gets usurped just the first time in and any time the grid refreshes to the point where defaults are restored (I have yet to figure out what actually triggers that).

Header1 happily stays there with all of it's properties at "Expression cannot be evaluated", so, I will happily let it stay there and just add my custom header when needed. My screen is finally working!
