From my knowledge of other database systems I'm guess there might be a
performance improvement distributing the database files on a server on a 5 disk raid array.

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

If so what type of raid system would you suggest?

Also I am guessing something like a Linux or UNIX system using windows mountable shares could have some performance benefit?


IT seems like having all the database files on 1 disk
with like 80 users accessing the same disk with heavý
transactions would be problemtic.

Anyone care to comment?
