That's the point. Tools\File locations has wrong info and sys(2023) returns that setting.

I just did a test and changing the TMPFILES setting, and re-starting VFP did change both the value returned by SYS(2023) and the setting in the Options dialog. In both cases, they were the same.

Perhaps it does have something to do with the trailing backslash I mentioned in my other post.
