Are these procs being fired by triggers? If so, that's supported. If you're calling these procedures from something other than a trigger, please share some details with us.

The significant difference is that you cannot simply call a stored proc through the VFP ODBC driver from anywhere in your app like you can with SQL Server or Oracle.
