It would also take repointing the objects based on the old class to the new one, or else they'd still use the old one, and this old class would be automatically re-added to the project on next rebuild (and maybe when an object based on it was edited, didn't pay that much attention).

Now for repointing an object to a different class, you may have to hack the .scx where your object resides, or the .vcx of the subclass you want to assign to a different parent (but that can be done in the class browser most of the time).
