Welcome to the Universal Thread!

If you have modified someone's code that was posted publicly, like here in the Files section, then the right etiquette would be to email the author and tell him or her the nature of the changes. If he/she is interested in the changes, then email them the changes. The author may or may not revise the public files with the changes and if he or she does, it's proper etiquette on their part to acknowledge your contribution.
