I think that may be something they've fixed in VFP6/SP3. It doesn't seem to generate an error anymore no matter what the SET TALK setting is. It certainly did in VFP 5, though.

Your code seems to work OK for me in both W95/W98. I think you're using NT, so that should cover all the bases.
