Hi Evan,

Glad to see your computer is not snow-bound yet -- actually you don't get much snow in Vancouver, do you? I always enjoy my visits there. A beautiful city.

Actually I have found a whole slug of ActiveX grids, not only on the Web but in an article in PC Magazine (of all places) a few years old.

Problem is, they don't tell me much about how they might work with VFP - and as they are usually designed as VB controls, I suspect they may not work as well with FP as one might wish. Hence the request for actual experience.

Presumably, however, no one in the VFP/UT community has had any experience with ActiveX grids, or at least does not want to share it, or has not read the UT for a few days, or whatever.

As to why we want to abandon the VFP grid. Actually we don't. But it is not as robust as one might want, it has display preculiarities, it loses its links with its data sources periodically and for no evident reason, and generally was a poor choice by MS to start with and has not been upgraded significantly in eight years. Other than that, it's a fine grid.

I am personally interested in finding a replacement grid because if I don't I am probably going to end up having to write one, and I do not want to.

Thank you for the response,

regards,

J M Edgar

>Since nobody answered try www.activex.com. Also do a search on "grid" in the UT files section for VCX grids.
