I have a program that needs to read UNIX files that have : in their file name ex. "H42fg32:fund2:e I am accessing these files via Attachmates' Pathway NFS Client from Win95. When I attempt to access the files with VFP, I get an error reading the file. 2.6 works because in all cases the : appears after where the filename is truncated.

My current strategy is to have VFP write and execture a Pearl script to UNIX that will rename the files. I would prefer to simply access the files. Is anyone aware of a workaround or an NFS client that will compensate for the file name limitations of Windows?

TIA
