I am sporadically having a 'file access denied' error when opening PRG source files that are on a Netware 4 volume. Here is the info

ERROR MESSAGE: 'file access denied'

ENV: VFP6SP3, NETWARE4.x server,Netware Client 32, NT4WkstnSP3

REPEATABLE: Not consistently

CIRCUMSTANCES:
The error occurs when creating a PRG that is run directly to create adhoc queries. Sporadically, the PRG will give the error if it is opened either with the MODI COMM command or using the VFP 'File Open' menu. Restarting VFP can remove the problem. Sometimes logging out cures then problem was well. In one circumstance the a PRG has never been able to be opened using MODI COMM but has been been opened using the method below.

The error does not appear when:
1. The file can be accessed if the PRG is put into project and the PRG is opened from the project manager. Note the file can be opened this way even when the 'file access denied' error happens with MODI COMM.

The error may go away:
1. If VFP is closed and restarted.
2. If the workstation is logged out.

BACKGROUND:
Will the introduction of VFP5 and error was introduced that prevented forms from being editted on a Netware server with Netware client 32. This error was finally solved in VFP6SP3. PRGs never suffered from this problem. I have however noticed this PRG problem since starting to use VFP6.

Has anyone else had this problem or have any ideas how to solve it? I am still in the process of trying to repeat it with regularity so that I can phone it into Microsoft.

Thanks for any help.
