As you are no doubt tired of hearing by now, 1790 items in a combo box is too many items. You are using the wrong control for the job.

Check out thh kitbox column in July 1999 FoxTalk. Andy and Paul discuss the ComboGrid. Looks like a combo, but FAST when you have many items. Also allows incremental searching and sorting on any column that has an associated index tag.
