FoxPro DOS losing drive mappings on fast PCs/networks?

>When we run our FoxPro DOS (2.5a) app from our network, we often lose our network drive mappings (message "Cannot access drive G:" or something like that). What is interesting about this problem is the following:

I've heard the same thing from another group in our company with a fpw2.5a application... you have to remember back to the days of this products release (fp2.5 -1992??). These application were never meant to run on the machines we are running now - and definitely not at the network speed we have now. I bet if you put it on an old 486 dx33, everything would work fine.
