Thanks! You are exactly right - the set relation causes me the problem. For now however I will forego the field/table validations in the dbc and instead use validation in my form during the save routine. I do want to eventually learn how to do this but for now I have a deadline of Monday and really don't have the time to go back to understand how to use views and change everything. Sorry about the second posting but I'm relatively new to the universal thread and didn't see my posting on the front screen and therefore thought something had happen with it.
