Your code example has solved some of my problems and I will adopt it.

I still have the background problem though.

Report preview comes with its own grey/black "desktop" which the white report form is displayed upon.

It is this desktop that I was hoping to remove since it opens the possibilty giving the customer small reports embedded within their forms ( A bit like a memo window)

These small reports will not work if the "desktop" is there because the customer would have to keep scrolling within a small view port.

I could output the report to a memo window but I would lose the ability to add color to the reports or end up having to embed color using a rich text control.
