What is the correct state? So, you're saying that it should be blank but it's not returning empty if it's in a remote view or SPT cursor?

>sorry for the confusion, I meant why does it return .f., the basic scenario is, I imported some data from Access via ODBC, and need to write to VFP tables based on some values in DateTime fields, e.g. copy to Rejected for not empty(myTimeandDateRejectfield), the problem is all records are copied, I tried ?empty(myTimeandDateRejectfield) in the command window and it's returning .f., if I open an existing VFP table, navigate to a record with a blank datetime field, ?empty(myTimeandDatefield) returns .t., WTF is going on?
