>>Hi George,
>>
>>>Believe me, Jeff (and I'm not indulging in one-upsmanship here), if you think Atlanta was bad, try Chicago. It's virtually impossible to go any distance without running into some construction on the expressways. I-294 is a toll road (with about a half dozen toll booths from one end to the other). People drive bumper-to-bumper at 60 MPH (when they're moving, which sometimes isn't much).

>>We only have 2 speeds on the Interstates here: 0 or 75. And bumper-to-bumper is the rule no matter which speed is in effect. Scary! < G >
>
>Oh Yeah! I'd forgotten. Must've remembered from before they eliminated the 55 MPH maximum. I did have the lovely experience of being caught in bumper-to-bumper traffic coming out of Chicago at around midnight. Took us about 3 hours to get to Wheaton. Of course, it was during "Taste of Chicago".

55 MPH? Hmm, so that's what those funny signs are alongside the road. < G > It's still 55, that might just be the average speed we try to attain.

I NEVER drive to the Taste anymore. "METRA is the way to REALLY fly" In fact, I avoid driving downtown period, especially since we lost the Bulls. Oh wait, they are still "playing" aren't they?
