I'm converting a FoxProDOS 2.6 app to VFP6. I hoping to not rework all the Scatter/Gather code from the original, but I'm having trouble understanding the scope of the Scatter'ed "m.variables".

If I Scatter in the Activate method of the form, m.vars that are bound to controls will persist even after the form is unloaded.

On the other hand, m.vars that are not bound to a control don't persist outside the Activate method.

What are the rules here?
