>I have a web server which is co-located at an ISP (plugged in to a 100 megabit backbone) and I access it via tcp-ip. I also have a cable modem and the ipaddress stays the same until the leaseline expires. I've rebooted several times and the same ip address comes back each time. DHCP has a lease time that they set to expire and after that time, you'll get a new address. To overcome that, I map to my webserver and do an ipconfig >f:\ip.txt (with f: being the mapped drive.) This way I can access my web server and retrieve the ip address of my home development machine if needed.
f:\ip.txt (with f: being the mapped Could you explain that?
Thanks Mark
