Well, I've read about a dropdown grid, but that is more ore less than same (just more reliable).

What I do is I have a "LookUp" button next to my TextBox where my combo down arrow would be. That opens a form with a grid on it and OK and Cancel buttons. I also allow filters and finds on the grid which make many times easier for the users.
