I am connected via Videotron, and yes, the agreement prevents me from running any kind of server. Not a problem since I'm not running a server.

Leases with Videotron are 2 days. ADSL was available (via Sympatico), but they can't match cable modem speed plus it's behind a proxy. But then again, I was looking for a residential service, not a commercial one - my choice would not have been Videotron under those terms!

>Actually, we're about to start offering DSL in the coming weeks, and will be DHCPing the IP addresses, with a 30 minute lease for just such an occasion. If someone wants to host or run web apps, they'll just have to pay the fee related to that service (fixed IP address, reverse-lookup and anything else associated to this type of setup).
