The HP driver is leaving the CPU's FP registers in an inconsistent state. It's a driver problem.

You can prove this out by using a different driver for the printer. You can use the HP LaserJet 4 driver, for example, from an MS operating system distribution rather than the HP-supplied driver. Switching drivers to a known, well-behaved print driver distributed by MS will prove out that the issue is in the driver.
