>>>What was the suit based on?
>>
>>This was back in the early 90's so I forget the specifics. But I do remember the write up in the local newspaper touting something along the lines of "unfair labor practices". The employee's beef was that she was hired to do a job, then tested to see if she was capable to do the job she was already hired for.

>>The company didn't really take it seriously, but razzed the heck out of me. Then a year later when the corporate lawyers came in from Atlanta everybody was humbled... the case lasted on day in front of a judge and he made his ruling in her favor right away the next morning.

>The nerve of that ungrateful *&$%#! And taking home a paycheck to boot! It is total crap when company owners can not reasonably run their business the way they see fit without gov't intervention. It is none of the gov't's damn business how I run my personal business. It ain't their money/capital at risk! I feel the same way about where I work. Somebody has to rock the boat from the inside. But I digress...

I hear ya Buddy! And the real kicker here was this was one of those employees that pissed & moaned about every little thing, missed work like once every other week, and went over the hypocondriac edge when the whole carpal tunnel thing was new. This was part of the reason I got razzed so much over my "bright idea", for months I was known as "The Weed Wacker" because I single-handedly weeded out all the dead weight with my little scheme to prove it wasnt the software but the users.
