I just installed NT4 workstation on my new laptop, and got SP5 loaded. I seem to have an IRQ conflict but have no idea what to do about it :(

When I start it up Service Manager tells me
"atleast one service failed to start, see Event Viewer for details"

The even viewer shows a mess of stop events on Cdrom for each time I restart. Event Detail says "The device \Device\CdRom0 has a bad block". It's actually a dvd, and plays both CDs and DVDs just fine.

I'm also getting a warning event on Serial, the detail on that says "Not enough resources were available for the driver"

It also seems to recognize the modem just fine in control panel, but when I try to setup dialup networking to connect to my ISP, as soon as my modem makes connection I get the blue screen of death memory dump, and the top of the screen says something about IRQ problem.

This is my first NT install, I'm at a loss.
