**************** NORTHERN NEW JERSEY FOXPRO *************

Meeting Thursday October 28, 1999 at 6:30pm.

*************************************************************

DATE: Thursday October 28, 1999 at 6:30pm.

LOCATION: The Ground Round Restaurant on Rte 4 in Hackensack.

Speaker: Jim Falino

Topic: Using VFP DLLs To Create Powerful, Dynamic Web Sites!

Don't think that you need to learn VBScript, JavaScript, Perl
or some other very limited scripted language to build web sites.
You can continue to harness your FoxPro experience to build powerful,
dynamic web content very easily. All it takes is a basic understanding
of HTML and a reason to get started. Jim's firm, Application Web
Technology, is building and using tools to create database
applications on the web, while providing the type of table-driven
functionality FoxPro programmers are used to giving our clients.
In this session, he'll show you some of the techniques, tricks and
traps so you can do the same using an HTML editor, IIS (or PWS),
and VFP. He'll also discuss creating a development environment
for yourself that makes debugging web applications easier.

Jim Falino is the Chief Technology Officer of Application Web
Technology - a New York City firm specializing in building
data-centric business applications for the web. He's been developing
systems for 10 years for Fortune 500 clients such as Microsoft,
Marriott, and Smith Kline Beecham, as well as an enterprise-wide
client/server application for the garment industry. Jim's also the
co-author of Building Distributed Applications with ADO (Wiley and
Sons, 1999), as well as several articles in FoxTalk and FoxPro
Advisor Magazine on client/server and web development using
Visual FoxPro. He can be reached at jimf@appwebtech.com.

Don't miss what promises to be a bangup session.

Hope to see you there.
