>>I would like to propose an MVP-oriented chat here in the chat room for tomorrow at 2PM Eastern, 1 hour before the normal chat to discuss termination of the MVP program and what should/can do about it.

>I have mixed feelings abou this. I think it sucks that MS is terminating this worthy program in that it helps beginners identify experts. On the other hand, it should only take folks a few days of reading replies on the respective forums to determine who the experts are.

>Hell, I am not sure I like MS's somewhat arbitrary methods of who MVPs are. I am in favor of setting up our own categorized VIRTUAL MVPs for respective forums. For example you would be, among other things :), the VMVP for Evil Classes on the UT VFP Forum. :) I am only half-kidding.
Calvin Hsia told me how the MVP idea started. He said that he kept a list (in his days before he was with MS) of the top posters on the Compuserve Fox Forum. This was refered to as "Calvin's List" and the people were named "MVPs" (Most Verbose Person). Eventually MS adopted the idea and the rest is history.
