Sorry for the delayed reply... been busy. :)
Anyway, from what I recall, this technique was being used in one of our Fox 2.x systems we use internally. Since it happened a long time ago, I can't remember the specifics, but I do remember it rendered a part of our system unusable. We quickly changed the SQL statement to use INTO TABLE instead of the USE (DBF()) technique and the problems disappeared completely.
