When I issue the following commands from the command line, I get the desired result.

cElement="Checks"
CREATE TABLE TempFile (&cElement C(35), Group L)

VFP creates a table called tempfile with the two fields in it.

When this set of commands is issued from within a program file, I get the error "Feature is not supported for non-.DBC tables. (1580)" Why can I issue this command from the command line, and create a FREE table, but within a program the same set of commands won't work?
