Hey Vidar ... take a pill mate ...

>>Well, if a guess is good enough for you, then wy don't you just cut of the text at a certain length? That's easy to do.

If you are that keen to see it work that way ... why dont you jump in
at do the coding ... who knows you might actually learn a bit more about
how GenrepoX works.

>No, a guess is NOT good enough for me, that's why I'm having this discussion. But you seem to have the opinion that if it can't be cut of perfectly we shouldn't even try!

Its more about time management me thinks ... maybe markus doesnt have the
time right now ... after all he is working on that really cool HTML driver
in all his spare time <g>

>The screen font is a good approximation for the corresponding printer font in most cases. So that wouldn't be a guess at all, at least not a wild guess and far far better than not trying at all! Don't you think?

Sounds great ... using the driver model you should be able to build a
driver that does exactly what you want ... OR if you want to go even
further you could checkout the VBPRINTER.OCX that is here on UT
it gives you access to the printer device context directly and from there
you could get the exaxt text width with a few calculations.

>Why don't give it a try? A lot of people are relying on GenRepoX and we all know how unprofessional a report looks with overflown lines spread all over!

And just think how greatful they will all be when you release you freshly written driver into the public domain for them all to enjoy.
