As a Compuserve member I haven't exactly been active in the VFOX forum. Yesterday, I responded to a message (for the first time) about the upcoming VFP MCP certification tests. Today I got a message (privately from one of the members) saying that it wasn't general infomation and implicating that I shouldn't have posted it. I told the person that it was public knowledge (I had posted the same email tthat Craig B. had posted here). I can't believe that CServe is as far behind the UT as they are. Anyway, I posted the following on that forum regarding the upcoming beta.

The VFP certification exams are about to go into beta. I can't describe how important it is to all of us with an interest in the future of VFP to take these exams. Unlike a beta release of the product itself, these exams are open to anyone who wishes to take them. At this time, it is my understanding that the cost will be $50.00 US. This is half the price of taking the regular exam. Additionally, you *may* receive a coupon towards taking another exam.

I would strongly suggest that any one interested on why one should take it, read the VFUG (www.vfug.org) newsletter of September of this year. In that issue, VFP MVPs Craig Berntsen and John Koziol outline the meaning and impact of taking the exam, both in terms of what it can mean career wise and to the product itself.

Further, a study group has been formed on the Universal Thread (www.levelextreme.com) that meets three times a week which can help prepare for this exam. If you are not a member of it, you can join. Membership is free.
