If forms are in desktop, they will allways be modeless what ever you define.
VFP does that automatic.

But i found the solution.......

It seems there is a difference between VFP5 and 6 in handling read events.

if i issue read events , than somewehere clear events and issue a new read events.In VFP6 the focus is gone, not so in VFP5 where you still have the focus
Actually documention says there can be more than 1 read events as long as you clear events first!

So I changed things to have 1 read events.
Only required some thinking for new logic in program.
